Students are able to participate in a variety of after school activities at Dover Hill.

Tutoring

Tutoring in academic areas is available most nights of the week.  For specific information about dates, times, or to get signed up, contact your child’s teacher.

 

After School Clubs

There are also a variety of after school clubs available for students throughout the year.  For specific information about clubs, including sign-ups, dates, and times, watch for information shared by your child’s teacher through ParentSquare. Available clubs include:

  • Running Club
  • Board Game Club
  • Reading Club
  • STEM Club
  • Science Club

 

After School Care

Additionally, after school care is available through partnerships with the Joplin Y and Boys & Girls Club of SW Missouri.

The Joplin Family YMCA’s School Plus Program is an after school care and activity program designed to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children in elementary school. It is held on site at local elementary schools from the time school is dismissed until 6:00 pm. There’s time for homework and a balanced snack as well as challenging physical activities and creative pursuits, with supervision and encouragement from trained YMCA staff. All staff are CPR/First Aid certified and have been through a background check. Scholarships are available based on household size and household income. State Aid is also accepted for those who qualify.

Boys and Girls Club of SWMO LogoBoys and Girls Club of Joplin

The Boys and Girls Club provides an after-school program for children age 5-18 years old. Trained staff members help children develop their academic and social skills in a fun and diverse environment. Activities are designed for various age groups and skill levels to enhance growth and to encourage learning. The program is available to all area residents, and after-school transportation to the Boys and Girls Club is provided from several Joplin schools. A small fee is required for the program.
