Volunteer with Us
Dover Hill is home to 430+ students from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities. By becoming a volunteer at Dover Hill, you can help have a positive impact on students and our school!
Breakfast Club
Some students struggle to get to school on time, but when they have something (or someone) to look forward to, they are more likely to be at school on time each day. Join our Breakfast Club by eating breakfast from 7:15-7:35am with a student once a week to help encourage good attendance.
Register using the Bright Futures Lunch PALS link. Then, to schedule a day of the week and student buddy, email lisasanders@joplinschools.org. Be sure to mention “Breakfast Buddy” in your email!
Lunch Buddy
Lunch Buddies are paired with an at-risk student to build a relationship over time by committing to eating a 20-minute lunch once a week with their student buddy.
To register, complete the Lunch PALS application through Bright Futures and email lisasanders@joplinschools.org to schedule a day and time each week to meet with your buddy.
After-School Tutor
Help students build their skills in reading or math by committing to meet with a student from 3:00-4:00 one day each week to practice skills and help with homework.
To register, complete the Building Volunteer application through Bright Futures and mention “After-School Tutor”. Then, email lisasanders@joplinschools.org to be paired with a student.
Building Volunteer
Not able to commit to a weekly schedule? We can still use volunteers who are able to provide chunks of time to help teachers prepare materials including making copies, cutting lamination, filing papers, organizing materials for labs or class activities, and more.
To sign up, complete the Building Volunteer application through Bright Futures and mention “Building Volunteer”. Then, coordinate your availability and find a time to volunteer by emailing genabrown@joplinschools.org!
