Who is Dover Hill Elementary?

Dover Hill Elementary opened in January 2023 and combined the students and staff of Columbia Elementary (1927) and West Central Elementary (1928) into one building.

• Enrollment of 420+ students with a free & reduced rate of over 85%
• Supported by approximately 90 staff members, including teachers, administrators, behavior and academic specialists, special education staff, cooks, and custodians.
• Additionally, Dover Hill serves several non-native English-speaking students as well as hosting the district’s CBSS program for students with special needs.

What does being a partner mean?

Partnering with our school through Bright Futures means committing to support our students, staff, and families.  Partnership may look different for each organization that partners, but joining means you are willing to actively engage with our school.  There are understandably seasons and varying needs that may suit some organizations more than others, but by being willing to join a team of partners that we can reach out to for support, we are able to provide a stronger foundation for our entire school.

What’s the expectation of being a community partner?

The most important thing we count on is your willingness to invest in our school.  We know everyone’s time is valuable, and we want the majority of your time to be devoted to being able to serve.  So, instead of holding monthly or quarterly face-to-face meetings, most communication is handled through email, phone calls, or texts with school administration.  The messages serve to communicate our school’s status and opportunities to connect.  Each need is presented as an opportunity; if you’re able and willing to fill one, but can’t another, no problem.  That’s why we are building a team of partners who can work together to fill those needs!  Additionally, we look for ways that our school can give back to our community, sometimes by supporting or partnering with our own community partners.
